Bookfessional: Bingeing, I Love it

I don’t know about you guys, but Netflix has spoiled me—excepting GoT, I can’t think of a single show that I have the patience to watch on a week-to-week basis. When I watch something, I watch all of it, up to being current and/or finishing it. #cantstopwontstop

These are my most recent binges:

~ Orphan Black ~

description

Season 5 is two episodes away from completion, and if I’d known that, I might’ve delayed this binge for a few more weeks, but I didn’t, so now I’m stuck waiting to see how it’s all going to turn out (this time).

But I’m not as bothered as I normally would be, b/c this show is freaking fantastic.

Normally clones are one of those sci-fi subjects that freaks me out (don’t know why, they just do), but in this case I’m too in awe of the actress who plays them all to care. Seriously, this chick plays half a dozen separate and distinct versions of herself, and it is A M A Z I N G to behold.

I was hooked from the first season and it only gets better.

Verdict: one of my all-time favorite shows. Recommended to EVERYONE. Available on Amazon Prime.

~ Wynonna Earp ~

description

I have tried to watch this one twice now, but I only made it a few episodes before getting bored in this last attempt. The first time, I think I made it almost to the end of season one before losing interest . . . It’s just so silly.

The basic premise is that every time the firstborn of a new generation of direct descendents to Wyatt Earp turns twenty-seven, everyone who died at hand of Earp is resurrected from hell (as a demon) in Earp’s hometown, running amok and wrecking havoc until killed (again) by said heir with a super special, demon-killing gun. The Big Bad is named Bobo.

Riddikulus.

Verdict: Booooooooo. Available on Netflix.

~ True Blood ~

This is another show that I’ve tried to finish more than once, but unlike my WYNONNA EARP attempt, this one was successful. Not that I think I’ll ever feel compelled to do it again.

As the series progresses, it veers more and more wildly from the original plot line(s), until what’s left barely resembles the books that inspired it.

Thoughts on the final season: View Spoiler »

Verdict: Meh. Available on Amazon Prime.

What about you? Binged on anything good lately?

Jessica Signature

My name is Jessica and I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’m trying my hand at writing, but mostly I read. My favorite genres are Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Science Fiction, Urban Fantasy, and the YA versions of those genres, but if there is a book of a different color getting lots of buzz, I’ll read it too, just to be informed. If I’m not reading or writing, I’m probably on Goodreads or Pinterest or baking blueberry pies because I love them.

I LOVE Orphan Black, major girl crush to Tatiana. WEarp bored me too. TB was good until it went horrible. I hope her Midnight Texas fares better

Orphan Black is a pretty awesome show; I watched the first episode and got hooked. I think the characters are really great – especially Helena. It’s amazing that one person can play all those people so well. That’s true acting talent right there.

  3. I have seen a little bit of Wynonna Earp and thought it was kind of cheesy fun. I also liked the graphic novel I read, to bad you didn’t like it. I quite watching True Blood about season 5 as I didn’t want to see anything happen to those I liked and also never finished the actual book series either…lol. Not tried Orphan Black.
