August is upon us, and with it comes the start of #StompvsRomp! This will be the fifth year that The Book Nympho & I have hosted this event with a brief hiatus to welcome a new baby, and for school. We’re pumped about the phenomenal line-up of authors who’ll be dueling in the coming weeks, and can’t wait for you to read their guest posts because they have truly outdone themselves.
For those of you not in the know, let me give you a quick rundown of what this showdown entails. The theme is action scenes vs sexy scenes in speculative fiction. Rabid Reads will be representing the Stomp (Urban Fantasy) side of the battle, and The Book Nympho will be leading Team Romp (Romance). Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday in August two authors will defend their Team, showcase a summer book release, and you the readers get to vote on who you think deserves to win each round. The polls are open all month-long, so if you miss a post, don’t worry you can circle back. There will of course be bribes, friendly trash talking (join-in on Twitter: #StompvsRomp), and the competition will be fierce, but if previous years have taught us anything it’s that you love action & romance equally.

Team Stomp is comprised of a debut author, a few big names, a couple of Canadians, and some indies among others, so on top of the post specific contests, I’ve decided to run one of my own where each entry into a Stomp Giveaway will also count as a ballot into the grand prize draw. In addition, I may add to the pot as the event progresses. I’m doing this in order to help ensure that all of the authors get some lovin’, and to maximize participation.
