My name is Pamela, and I am a witch.
I will protect Rylee’s pack, my family, at all costs. They are my greatest treasure, one I never dreamed to have. And I will defend them – even to the damning of my soul.
The demons have been beaten back, but I can feel darkness lurking just beyond my sight. Darkness that is coming for those I love. To protect them, I will chance everything on a stranger.
Raven is an Elemental of great power whose words resonate within my soul. Yet while he calls to my inner spirit, I know I cannot trust him.
To prove I am worthy of his tutelage, I must complete three tasks before he will teach me the one spell I want above all others. A way to bring home loved ones taken too soon.
His first mission will drop me straight into the fiery heart of the elemental world where there waits for me both death . . .and life.
Now I must salvage my courage and conquer Raven’s challenges, or be prepared to lose everything I hold dear to my heart.

PAMELA effortlessly blended the heroine’s past and future by having her face old ghosts during a quest to do the impossible—bring a loved one back from the dead. At first glance, Pam’s mission seemed straightforward, but like most of Shannon Mayer’s books, appearances can be deceiving. Rylee’s actions in BLOOD OF THE LOST were just the beginning. A bigger evil lurks in the shadows, and to stop it we’re going to need all hands on deck.
The previous installments in these epilogues were exactly that, entertaining after stories that allowed fans to check-in with their favourite characters however, as the leads of the original series, the author couldn’t expand on Rylee and Liam overly much. Pamela, on the other hand, was still a mostly untapped sidekick, so I really enjoyed learning what drives her, and watching her step out of the role of follower and into the one of protagonist.
There is some crossover with a couple of scenes from Mayer’s ELEMENTAL novels, Raven’s a reoccurring presence as are some of the locales, and Pam’s powers stem from that universe as well, thus I would recommend reading the former beforehand. A couple of fresh personages made their debuts such as Oka & Ajax, and I was pleased with the way Mayer went about integrating them because that’s been a gripe of mine in the past—too many new faces, too fast.
This title packed an emotional punch that only true RILEY ADAMSON connoisseurs can appreciate, and seeing how this is a continuation of that story line, greenhorns have their work cut out for them. But, trust me, the pilgrimage is definitely worthwhile. The plots of the other two volumes were settled after one go however, the ending of this book was inconclusive, so either Pam is getting another installment or the resurrected loved one is up next.
PAMELA gives Rylee and Lark a run for their money!
