Damn it, a man had his pride and a caribou a certain majestic presence, all of which could wind up ruined if he abased himself to play a simple-minded reindeer in the town’s Christmas parade.
No way was he wearing damned tinsel in his antlers.
Like hell was he sporting a red nose and pulling a sleigh.
But he changes his mind when he meets the woman in charge of the event.
Single mom, Crystal, is doing her best to offer her daughter the best Christmas ever. It’s their first in Kodiak Point, and she’s not about to let some vain jerk ruin it for her little girl.
If playing dirty is what it takes…then bring on the Christmas games. As Crystal and Kyle butt heads—and lips—they discover more than goodwill this holiday season. They’re gifted with a second chance at love.

I’m not usually a big fan of Christmas stories, but if it is part of series that I’m already reading, I’ll usually read it. In this case, just reading the blurb would’ve gotten me to read. I mean, trying to get former military caribou shifter to play Rudolf in a Christmas parade, how funny is that?
That’s not it, there is a story outside of the funny. Crystal is running from a controlling, stalker ex-boyfriend. She moved to Kodiak Point to hide from Malcom along with her young daughter, Gigi. Crystal is a cougar shifter and took on the job of putting together the Christmas parade. A few days before, one of the reindeer dies and they are down to only 8. Her daughter really wants to see Rudolf and Crystal is willing to do anything to make her daughter happy.
Kyle is former military. He is also the town’s player. He has a smile that gets all the women’s attention. He is very prideful and is willing to be punished by his alpha to avoid playing to be dumb animal. That is until he finds a scare little girl hiding in the barn. Oh, and this little girl belongs to the hot new cat in town that is the only woman who won’t give him the time of day.
The romance is a little fast, especially considering that both Kyle and Crystal have issues. But this is novella, 100 pages, so you have to expect that. The story is really cute. Kyle’s relationship with Gigi is great. The story also shows issues that happens with women and single mothers all the time. I had fun reading it.
While I love this series and highly recommend every book in this funny sexy shifter series, this book can be read as a stand alone. If you haven’t started the series, feel free to read this Christmas story during the holidays, then go back and read the rest of the series. I bought this books as part of a collection, Kiss of Christmas Magic: 20 Paranormal Holiday Tales, which I got at Amazon for $0.99. I haven’t read the other stories, but I’ll probably check them out.

Caribu shifter pretending to be Rudolph? Yep, I think this one is quite worth checking out if only for that!
Thanks for putting this one on my radar, I need all the Xmas stories to try to get in the Xmasy mood!

It is such a cute story and a quick read at only 100 pages. If you are looking for Christmas stories, the link in the review has a total of 20 paranormal stories. I’ve only read the one so far, but there are probably other good ones.

I need to try this series by her. I love one of her other series–she is such a good writer 🙂

She is so much fun, always making me laugh. This book can be read by itself if you are looking for a holiday read, though I think you would like this series.

I just went to one-click this only to realize I already had…*sigh* I’m a serial one-clicker. But I love Langalis so I really want to read this one. I’ve not read this series but I’ve enjoyed her FUC series. I love her humor. I’m glad this little Christmas novella was a nice addition to the Kodiak Point series. I’ll have to make sure I start on it – after I read Caribou’s Gift. 🙂

I love this series. I haven’t started her FUC series yet. I still need to get to those. Her stories are so great and then you add her humor into it, which is just icing on the cake.

I went and got the first one in this series after seeing another review on here you did but I haven’t read it yet. It will fit in with COYER so I am going to read it then. 🙂
I must confess, I really want to still your cute little squares that say all those fun things like Yummy Alpha, Smart and Fun, etc. 🙂 Every time you have a review I see those and think they are so cool. 🙂

It wasn’t too long ago that I got Kodiak’s Claim, I thought it was a new release then? I love Eve, her books are always sexy, silly, and funny

This series has been coming out really quickly. Kodiak’s Claim, book one, just came out in July and now there are three books and a novella out. She also has two preorders already posted for early 2015 in this series. You can read this story without reading any of the others so first. I hope you enjoy.

Can each book standalone? or do they go in order? I love shifter romances and this sounds so good!
Lorna recently posted…Early Review: Strayed by Amber Lynn Natusch
I think you could read out of order, especially this one. Since it was sold originally as part of an anthology, she made sure it would read as a stand alone. The full length novels, do have a little bit more of an overall story arc, but you wouldn’t be lost.

I like Christmas but I don’t like Christmas stories either. lol @ A military shifter caribou playing Rudolf. I like that the player guy has a weak spot for little girls. It’s hard to do a slow romance in a short story.

This was a really fun book. The little girl is so cute and the hero so protective of her. I was expecting a whirlwind romance in this story because it was a short story, so it didn’t really bother me. I know it might bother some people, but to me, it was expected.

Love the new header!! You’ve probably had it for a while…I’ve been a slacker with blogging lately (yeah, yeah, I got your comment!) but I love it. Great font, btw.
Sounds smexy and fun!

This time of the year it can be hard to spend as much time on reading and blogging as you would like. I know I’m not spending enough time on either as I try to get my house ready for the holidays.

I don’t really know why but I’m not really attracted by the books by this author but maybe I should try one before telling that…
I’ve read several different series and they all have a bunch of humor to them. Some have better storylines and characters than others. For example, her Freakin’ Shifters series is just about humor and smexy. Her Princess of Hell and the Kodiak Point series have better plot lines, more in line with UF and PNR, respectfully. I’ve yet to try others like the aliens or Cyborgs, so I’m not sure about them yet, but I’ve heard they are really good. If you want to try her, I would start with Kodiak Point series. It is a more traditional PNR series with extra humor.

I love Eve Langlais! this series is on my TBR, and I have the first two books on my kindle. I just finished her Alien Abduction series, and it’s hard to say what I love the most – the erotic scenes, or the humor?
I can’t wait to read this one 🙂 Great review, Melanie!
