Question: Your Most Anticipated Books For The Remainder of 2014

WeeklyQuestion

It’s hard to believe that there are only two months left before we ring in a brand new year, however that fact made this week’s question a piece of cake because my options were fairly limited which is a good thing because we all know how us book bloggers can go on-and-on about upcoming titles without strict guidelines. Hehe!

The first novel that jumped out at me was Sierra Dean’s A SECRET TO DIE FOR, now granted I read this one back in August because I could not WAIT to inhale the finale of her SECRET MCQUEEN series, but it still counts because it officially hits shelves on December 16th. Next in line would have to be Jennifer Estep’s November 25th release, BLACK WIDOW, followed closely by THE STAG LORD by Darby Kaye (Karchut) who happens to be one of the very first authors I really connected with when I started blogging. This book will be her Urban Fantasy debut, and I have high hopes that it’ll be just as good as her Young Adult. December 2ndβ€”mark your calendars!

Honorable mention also goes to Kristen Painter’s CITY OF ETERNAL NIGHT, DARKNESS FALLS by Keri Arthur, and Keri Lake’s SOUL ENSLAVED. Looking at those dates, I’m thinking that maybe I should call in sick on December 2nd. πŸ˜‰ Now, that wasn’t so bad, was it? Only 6.

What are your most anticipated books for the remainder of 2014?

  1. I think you did well keeping to only 6, Carmel! πŸ˜‰ And yeah, I do think you’re coming down with something…it’ll hit the night of Dec. 1.

When I worked more regularly, I always knew what books were coming and this question would have been easy for me. Now though, unless it’s an author I follow closely, I have no idea. I’m lucky bloggers like you provide me with New Release posts weekly. *ha* So, (can you tell where this is going?) I don’t know too many releases that I’m looking forward to before the year ends. But here are two. Coming For You by JA Huss releases this month…it’s the final book in her Dirty, Dark, and Deadly trilogy. AND Captivated by You from Sylvia Day releases this month as well. As for December…I’m clueless. πŸ™‚

    • I think you’re the exception to the rule, Brandee, most bloggers track upcoming new releases rather religiously, but it’s good to know that my new releases posts are actually helpful to some. Sylvia Day’s CROSSFIRE series is actually one of my guilty pleasures; I reviewed the first one on the blog, but the other installments have been just for me.

    • I completely forgot about the twins’ novella! I thought about the longer one that releases in January, but it doesn’t quality for this Q. I saw Armstrong post an update about Gifted on FB, but totally forgot to add it to my wishlist, thanks for the reminder! I need to get caught-up on Ione’s series… I’m going IAD first though, just for you!

  2. Hmmmm, Endsinger by Jay Kristoff since I have been waiting for the final book to come out before reading book 2 after being warned about an awful lciffhanger. This Shattered World by Amie Kauffman & Meagan Spooner, although I’ll be getting that one in Jan since I’m getting a signed copy…

What else, what else… oh yeah, Wicked the new paranormal by Jennifer L Armentrout, oh and Foresworn by Rinda Elliott, the final book in her paranormal/norse trilogy!

    • For some reason I was thinking that Endsinger came out last Tuesday, so please excuse my clueless comment on your WOW post, I just checked the date. LOL Your list is as long as mine!

    • Soul Enslaved’s pub date keeps getting pushed back, so I’m really hopping that we get it before the end of the year. I think Lake is now aiming for December 5th.

    • That makes sense. No one ever gets me books for Xmas even though there are always a few on my list, so I just stopped asking and buy them myself. Screw it! LOL

  3. BLACK WIDOW!!!! YES! I love that series so much. I’m so impressed that she’s managed to make 12 (is that what number we’re on?) books featuring the same characters and similar story arcs (people trying to kill Gin) so very interesting each and every time. She hasn’t let me down yet, and I’m not even close to tiring of Gin and company.

    • Yup, we’re now up to 12, and I’ve already read it. Let me just say that it was amazing! It surpassed her last couple of installments in that series, and she’s been contracted to write #13, so it’s not over yet.

  4. I’m going to cheat a little and pick recent releases that I still need/want to read but haven’t gotten to yet.

I’ll give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson (I’m afraid I’ll cry so I’ve been putting it off lol), Glory O’Briens’s History if the Future by A.S. King, Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers.

    • I’m assuming that all of those titles will be available in audio, and if that’s the case, I didn’t realize that the Night Shift anthology was. I might listen to that one instead!

  5. Diana

    I’m looking forward to

    Abracadaver–Laura Resnick
    Universal Alien–Gini Koch
    Light My Fire–GA Aiken

    • I keep forgetting that Rice has a new vampire book out, it’s been SO long! I was tempted to read her werewolf series, but reviews weren’t very good, so I passed.

  6. Almost everything I’ve been anticipating has come out already. I’ve wrapped up some great series, The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken, The Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin and the third book in Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle.
The rest are all 2015 releases.
I do have a lot of TBR for the rest of the year, though!

  7. I’m excited about Alice Claytons latest and Breaking The Rules since it means more Noah and Echo! LOL
I’m terrible at keeping track of books to come but I figure I really need to start getting better at it! SO MANY BOOKS!

    • You lucky ducky! I wish my list was smaller, I was looking at December’s new releases and was like ooh, it’s not too bad, then I put this post together, and was like damn! Mate Bond is on my radar too (of course)!

  8. Mogsy from BiblioSanctum

Hmm, end of the year is usually lighter for me, it’s my time to catch up. So it’s hard for me to think of anything that I’m really anticipating, though I’m looking forward to Jay Kristoff’s Endsinger, the third book of the Lotus War series coming out at the end of the month.

First of all: HOW IS IT ALREADY NOVEMBER?!?! The year has gone by so incredibly fast! And secondly, I am highly anticipating both The Walled City by Ryan Graudin and A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. πŸ™‚ Great discussion question! πŸ˜€

    • I know, right? AND, we’re already a full week-in. I tried denial, but it’s getting too freaking cold outside to ignore the change in seasons, plus it SNOWED this morning. Great picks!

    • Nice!! I really like that series in audio, but I just don’t have the patience to wait until release day, so I always request the ARCs, and listen to ’em later.

  10. Actually one of the books that I was waiting for most came out earlier this week, Mortal Heart and I already bought it. Aside from that I only have one book that I’m collecting that I need: Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes. All the other books I want come out next year. I’m trying to keep my book shopping down right now lol.

    • Stephen King is too creepy for me, but he has a huge following, so to each their own. I actually enjoy getting to pick books from my someday pile, plus it frees up space for new ones. LOL

  11. Oh boy what a questions:

Night Shift by Nalini Singh and Ilona Andrews
The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter
Light My Fire by GA Aiken
A Cursed Bloodline by Cecy Robson – Though I did get an ARC and have read it, love it, still it does not come out until 11/18.

Few only 4 left I’m looking forward to in 2014, so still time to work on the TBR. ^_^

  12. Oh gosh I am so up to my neck with current ARCS I wasn’t even thinking about new books coming out in the next two months heh, but those look like really great picks

  13. This is a surprisingly tough question! Sometimes it seems like all my auto-buy authors release in the spring, usually within about five weeks of each other. I’m really anticipating This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner, a companion novel to This Shattered World (which I’m listening to right now). Only about 1/3 of the way through and I already know I’m on board for whatever this duo writes!
Danya recently posted…Review: Otherworld Nights by Kelley Armstrong

    • Good one!! I know it’s currently a serial, so I have been avoiding it, but I have no idea when all of the episodes will be available. I should look into that.

  14. It’s ridiculous that 2014 is just about over. I was going over my top ten reads for 2014 and it is HARD.

I don’t think I have too many highly anticipated reads left:

    This Shattered World
    Wicked (JLA)

    I’m in preparation for 2015 now! πŸ™‚
