Top 10 of 2013

Another year has come and gone which means that it’s time to participate in Two Chicks On Books, Fiktshun and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads annual TOP 10 OF 2013 week long meme. Not only do I love lists but these posts are easy to put together and schedule during the holidays so that I can spend time with my family. Enjoy!

night broken_front mech.indd 10. Night Broken by Patricia Briggs

I’m still a couple of installments behind on this series but I’m trying desperately to catch-up before this one comes out in March.
09 Better Homes and Hauntings 09. Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper

I never seem to discover Molly Harpers’ series ’til after she’s a few books in so I’m excited to read her upcoming stand-alone title, especially if it’s releasing in audio too. Amanda Ronconi is such a fab narrator!
08 Magic Breaks 08. Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews

After the way MAGIC RISES finished how could this book not be on my most anticipated books on 2014?? Kate and Curran are definitely one of my all-time favourite paranormal couples.
07 Grim Shadows 07. Grim Shadows by Jenn Bennett

If I hadn’t already read BITTER SPIRITS, it would be here instead of this second installment. BANISHING THE DARK could also easily be on this list as well but I prefer to only feature one author per top 10.
06 Poison Promise 06. Poison Promise by Jennifer Estep

The ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN series is on my auto-buy list so as soon as there’s a new novel in the works it goes on my wishlist. Enough said.
ComingSoon 05. Cold Hard Secret by Sierra Dean

SECRET MCQUEEN is another fav of mine when it comes to Urban Fantasy heroines; every time I finish an installment in this series I immediately start counting down the days ’til the next one releases.
ComingSoon 04. Menagerie by Rachel Vincent

I was super excited when I heard that Rachel Vincent announced that she’d be writing a new Urban Fantasy series in 2014. Her UNBOUND series wrapped-up earlier this year so I was hoping she’d come out with something to fill the void.
03 The King 03. The King by J.R. Ward

It’s been a loooong time since Wrath’s story and I’m definitely excited to revisit the blind king. He’s one of my top 5 fav brothers.
02 Up From The Grave 02. Up From The Grave by Jeaniene Frost

I was a little sad when Jeaniene Frost announced that this would be her last Cat & Bones book but I’m hoping that this series will go out with a bang!
01 Burned 01. Burned by Karen Marie Moning

It feels like I’ve been waiting forever for this one but if it’s anything like all of KMM’s other novels, then it’ll be well worth the wait. BURNED is by far my most anticipated read of 2014!

    • Thanks for stopping by! The only problem with checking-out other peeps’ lists is that it means even more books are getting added to my already massive TBR pile.

  1. Wonderful list! I have a hard time putting these together since I’m always afraid of leaving someone off them. 2014 looks to be an awesome year for new releases, new series, and series that are coming to an end.

    • I probably missed a couple without even realizing it and there will always be more titles announced as the year progresses. These are more like my top most anticipated reads of 2014 for right now. LOL

    • I don’t read a lot of YA but I try to throw some into the mix every now and then to switch things up; you should do the same with adult titles. You have no idea of what you’re missing out on!

  2. Don’t let me forget about Menagerie, I want to be able to start the series when it comes out. As for the rest…they’re either on my must buy or their series is on my TBR (because I’m not caught up yet…and have I told you that I LOVE the Elemental Assassin series on audio? I’m almost finished with book 1 and have book 2 ready as soon as it finishes!)

    • Hehe ok I will make sure you don’t forget about Menagerie. Adding it to my to-do list now. And yes, Estep’s EA series totally rocks on audio! I always listen to ’em even after I’ve read the ARCs.

  3. I can’t wait for The King all I have to say is JR Ward better deliver and there better be some sexy time with Wrath and Beth even though I have a feeling the book will be about a lot more than Wrath since that doesn’t look like him on the cover.

  4. I got a lot from the list, but my most anticipated tittle for 2014 is Written in My Own Heart’s Blood (Outlander series) Any other year it would have been Burned 🙂
