Introduce Yourself to our readers:
[box]Hi! I’m a New York Times bestselling author of adult and young adult dark fantasy, romance, horror, and other genres. I’ve written around 80 novels and over 200 short stories and essays. I received a Pioneer in Genre award from Romantic Times last year (for Young Adult) and I got to sit next to Sue Grafton for pictures. SCORE! I have also received 5 Bram Stoker awards from the Horror Writers Association and a Scribe award for my novel based on the TV show, SAVING GRACE. I’m involved in the entertainment industry and I write a lot of material (novels, short fiction, episode guidebooks and coffee table books) for such shows as BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER/ANGEL, MTV TEEN WOLF, HELLBOY, HULK, HIGHLANDER, SMALLVILLE, and many others. I have three paranormal series out right now: WICKED, CRUSADE, and THE WOLF SPRINGS CHRONICLES. [/box]
[box]I have also written books and or/stories starring Nancy Drew, Zorro, Sherlock Holmes. I write and edit comic books, graphic novels, and pulp fiction for Moonstone Books. And I teach in the Stonecoast MFA in Creative Writing Program offered through the University of Southern Maine. [/box]
Tell us a little about your books?
[box]HOT BLOODED, the second book in the Wolf Springs Chronicles, is out right now. It follows the story of Katelyn McBride, who has to move to the Ozarks and gets embroiled in a werewolf war. She has one special ability that no other wolf has. The Hellhound is reigning fury down upon the warring packs…and Katelyn thinks she knows who the Hellhound is. Tall tales of of haunted mines, haints, and supernatural creatures turn out to be true. And there’s Trick Sokolov….[/box]
Is this your first RT convention?
[box]I kind of wish it was, so I could experience that magic of the first time all over again! I went to RTs way back in the day, then had a baby, and she’s finally growing up. I was at Chicago last year and I had the best pastrami in my entire life. [/box]
What are you most looking forward to at RT?
[box]Parties! And seeing so many fellow writers and readers. AND FREE BOOKS!!!! [/box]
If you’ve been to one before any tips for us newbies?
[box]It’s so easy to get overwhelmed at RT. There’s tons to see and do. I used to be a Girl Scout camp nurse so I will say: Be sure to drink a lot of water![/box]
Where can we find you at RT? Are you on any panels, going to any parties, etc.
[box]Here’s my RT schedule:[/box]
[box]Wednesday, May 1, noon to 1 PM : “Stuck in the Middle When You’re Writing’s Stalled.” This is important to me. I proposed this panel to Carol Stacy before we left Chicago last year because I ran into so many writers both new and “older” who mentioned that they had started at book at RT the year before, but hadn’t moved very far on it since. I knew there were hopes and dreams I had had, too, and hadn’t acted on them (or made much progress) since the year before. I wanted to help people move from dreaming to achieving, to making those milestones despite all the difficulties we writers face when we’re out of the wonderful dream that is RT. She said yes and here we are![/box]
[box]You did it! You started your short story, novella, epic poem or nonfiction article about dark heroes and their addiction to Kansas City barbecue. But it’s not finished — and you aren’t making any progress. What happened to your dream? Come to this interactive, hands-on workshop led by New York Times bestselling author and creative writing professor Nancy Holder, whose students (almost always) finish what they start. We’ll troubleshoot, commiserate and get back on track!
Panelist(s): Nancy Holder
Location: Mezzanine Level

[box]Thursday, May 2, 1:30 to 2:30 Steampunk Clockwork Tea. I love steampunk. I have steampunk outfits and attend the Gaslamp Gathering in San Diego (when it doesn’t conflict with RT!) My newest piece of steampunk is in FUTUREDAZE, a young adult science fiction anthology that my publisher is making available at the tea. I can’t wait to see my steamsistahs, especially Suzanne Lazear and Leanna Renee Hieber. [/box]
[box]Come into our parlor! Cinch your corset, fold your fan, grab your goggles and join us in celebrating the most intriguing and fabulously costumed genre, where 19th-century allure meets the fantastical. Mix and mingle with steampunk and gaslamp authors and enjoy swag, a costume contest and treats! Fulfill flights of improbable fancy, courtesy of your consummate author hosts and hostesses. We can’t wait for you to come calling! Steampunk finery optional but encouraged.[/box]
[box]Friday, May 3 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM Stop Wasting My Time, part 2: Continuing the Discussion. A continuation from the previous hour, this time with a different set of panelists to give you even more ideas.[/box]
[box]From e-books and anthologies to group tours and conventions, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of some of these marketing options, as well as the more traditional library and store signings.

Authors you’re most excited about meeting?
[box]Of course I can’t wait to see my fellow young adult writers. I met Cherry Adair last year (LOVED HER!) and stared at J.R. Ward. It would be thrill to meet her. [/box]
Since this event is for paranormal authors, can you tell us more about the paranormal in your book(s)?
[box]I use a lot of paranormal elements. In the Wicked series, it was witches. In the Crusade series, the classic evil vampires. witches like in my Wicked books, and werewolves. Then in the Wolf Springs Chronicles, it’s werewolves and Hellhounds. Today I’m writing about ghosts! [/box]
Tell us a little about your newest book?
[box]Two new books are TEEN WOLF: ON FIRE. It’s based on the hit MTV TV show, and it tells the history of Derek and Kate, and shows you Scott and Stiles when they were young. I love TEEN WOLF so much and I can’t wait for the third season to start. I also have a beautiful tribute book for the fifteenth anniversary of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. It has a packet of special “removables” of items show onscreem (except for one object, which contains a class Joss Whedon joke…)[/box]
How are you traveling to RT? Where are you coming from? Any interesting hiccups?
[box]I’m flying. I have to carry my steampunk hat in a big plastic bag or I’l squish the feather![/box]
What kind of opportunities are there for you at RT?
[box]You get to party, make business contacts, meet fellow readers & there’s no downside![/box]
What authors do you hope have tables beside you at the Giant Book Fair?
[box]I’ll be in the YA Alley and I hope I get to sit next to Colleen Houck, author the Tiger series (TIGER’s CURSE). She is an amazing writer and totally fun to hang out with. [/box]
Who are you bunking with?
[box]Laura Navarre. I just saw her Renaissance costume for Heather Graham’s do and I ordered a fancy wig so I could up my game![/box]
Why do you attend conventions?
[box]I attend conventions to connect with readers, fans, and writers, and to have fun with my tribe. We readers are like a gigantic family and RT is like we each get to have our birthday parties together. There’s cake, games, and presents.[/box]
Is your RT experience all planned out or are you more of a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants type person?
[box]I’ve got some plans but I’m ready for the magic to take over![/box]

In her new home, Holly’s sorrow and grief soon give way to bewilderment at the strange incidents going on around her. Such as how any wish she whispers to her cat seems to come true. Who is Alex Carruthers? That is the question Wicked fans have been asking for nearly six years. Spellbound, the fourth and seemingly final book in the Wicked series, originally published in 2003, left readers on the edge of their seats with a classic cliffhanger ending. But now, as new fans of the bind-up editions of the series begin to ask the same question, the true and final conclusion to the Wicked series will emerge. And all their questions will be answered in this heart-stopping, magical adventure about witches, destiny, and the beyond.[/tab] [tab][/tab] [tab]

The ultimate battle. The ultimate love.
For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun.
Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated—and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.
Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself—and her heart.[/tab] [tab]

There is a fine line between love and sacrifice….
Antonio would do anything for his beloved fighting partner Jenn. He protects her, even suppresses his vampire cravings to be with her. Together, they defend humanity against the Cursed Ones. But tensions threaten to fracture their hunting team and his loyalty—his love—is called into question.
Jenn, the newly appointed Hunter, aches for revenge against the Cursed One who converted her sister. And with an even more sinister power on the rise, she must overcome her personal vendettas to lead her team into battle.
Antonio and Jenn need each other to survive, but evil lurks at every turn. With humanity’s fate hanging in the balance, they must face down the darkness…or die trying.[/tab] [tab]

Following the “globetrotting supernatural adventure” (Publishers Weekly) of Damned, the riveting conclusion to the Crusade trilogy pushes the power of love to its limits.
Hope is in short supply, but courage runs deep as the Salamancan hunters recover from a devastating loss. Jenn knows she must rally her team against the Cursed Ones, but her focus is shattered. She’s torn between passion for Antonio, who once fought by her side, and hate for the bloodthirsty vampire he’s become. His volatility is tearing apart their team…and Jenn’s trust.
As the Cursed Ones amass new strength, Team Salamanca must strike together if they hope to survive, let alone defend humanity. Jenn wants to believe Antonio’s loyal to their cause—and their love—but she’s slowly losing her heart to Resistance fighter Noah. And if Antonio’s not careful, he may just end up with a stake in his.
This gripping conclusion to an epic trilogy pairs steamy romance with heart-stopping action, and delivers an ending as dramatic as it is unexpected.[/tab] [tab][/tab] [tab]

Katelyn McBride’s life changed in an instant when her mother died. Uprooted from her California home, Katelyn was shipped to the middle of nowhere, Arkansas, to her only living relative, her grandfather. And now she has to start over in Wolf Springs, a tiny village in the Ozark Mountains. Like any small town, Wolf Springs has secrets. But the secrets hidden here are more sinister than Katelyn could ever imagine. It’s a town with a history that reaches back centuries, spans continents, and conceals terrifying truths. And Katelyn McBride is about to change everything.
Broken families, ageless grudges, forced alliances, and love that blooms in the darkest night—welcome to Wolf Springs.[/tab] [tab]

Second in the epic paranormal trilogy, this has all the heat, atmosphere and feudal background of Fallen, and a love triangle to rival Twilight.
Katelyn had only been in Wolf Springs a few weeks before she was attacked by a werewolf. And now she carries that creature’s curse in her veins.
But she’s not alone. Wolf Springs is home to werewolves. And they swear that it wasn’t any of them who bit her. Changing humans without permission means the death penalty, and they’re none too happy about Katelyn.
The only explanation is that there’s a monster on the loose – something wild and uncontrollable. Because Katelyn has some of its power.
And two guys want Katelyn: one dark and mysterious, yet perhaps the perfect confidant; the other ferocious and forbidden – a werewolf that she can’t keep her hands off of.[/tab] [/tabcontent] [/tabs]

Niiice! I’ve read lots of Nancy’s books that she co-wrote with Debbie! Can’t wait to see her again!
I will have to check out Nancy’s books 🙂 I hope you all are having fun at RT 🙂
