I’m ashamed to admit that I usually just keep on reading. LOL If I can’t figure it out by the context in which it’s used I’ll move on. Although, I do feel the need to mention that it’s rare for me to get stumped on a word so I don’t want you thinking that I’m constantly skipping over important parts of books.
I read paranormal fiction not scientific textbooks so generally the vocabulary isn’t overly above-average. The only time that I’ll actually look up a word is if I’ve come across it multiple times and still don’t know the meaning or if it’s world-specific vocabulary and the novel includes a glossary of terms (like in J.R. Ward’s BDB series).

If I’m not using my kindle I will usually just skip it.
I am horrible, I stop and look the dang thing up.
I do the exact same thing you do. As long as it doesn’t take away from the story I don’t worry about it.
If it´s paperback, i´ll just skip it. That´s what´s so great about Kindle, just highlight and get your dictionary =) Love it!
It´s spoiled me to the point that i´ve started to try to highligth with my finger in my paperbacks, too *facepalm*
I have to say that I do skip them sometimes, but usually have to look them up. If I am not on my Kindle, I use my phone to check Google. Lol.
If I can get the general idea I’ll just go with it. If I’m really lost (or intrigued), I look it up – but only on ebooks with dictionary because I’m lazy like that LOL
Thank God for Kindle! That’s all I’m gonna say 🙂
@Krista eReaders are great with their built-in dictionaries but even then… I’m still too lazy to use them.
@kimbacaffeinate That’s not horrible it’s impressive!
@Amber I @ Awesomesauce At least we’re in good company. 🙂
@Linda That’s hilarious! I haven’t done that. Yet. LOL
@Tina B We’d be lost without the internet!
@Kat Balcombe I don’t look them up at all so that makes me lazier than you in case that makes you feel better. :p
@Loupe Duffy Amen!
