There’s some opening lines that just stick with you, no matter how long ago you read the book. The ones listed below are in no way “the best ever” but rather the ones that I could remember off the top of my head.
The moment the door opened I knew an ass-kicking was inevitable. Whether Iād be giving it or receiving it was still a bit of a mystery.
I remember lying in the snow, a small red spot of warm going cold, surrounded by wolves.
“My name is Gin, and I kill people.”
Only two-thirty in the morning, and I already had blood on my hands.

The opening line that really sticks with me is the one for “The Gargoyle” by Andrew Davidson.
