Cover Love

The Rules: Choose a cover (or two, or three), preferably new-ish, and share what you like about it. Grab my graphic or don’t (just so long as you link back). I’ll be posting Cover Love every Monday but feel free to post yours on whatever day works best for you.

My Picks:

  Allegiance Sworn
This is my favourite cover in this series so far. It probably has something to do with me being partial to purple. LOL

I like the girl’s tats along the side of her face and shoulder. Very cool!

The guy is definitely not hard on the eyes and the dagger is seriously badass.

There is no mercy in the demon realm. No escape. In this place of desperation and conflict, anyone who is not purebred is virtually powerless. Until a demon leader seeks to unify the races…

With the alliance of the humans and the half-blood Na’Chi forged, the demon Na’Reish prepare for war by seizing human blood-slaves. Captured during a rescue mission-gone-wrong, Light Blade warrior Arek Barial finds himself claimed by a Na’Reishi female who offers him an unexpected choice.

Raised in the elite ranks of a society she abhors, Imhara Kaal lives a dangerous double life as a Na’Reish Clan-leader and an advocate for a caste-free life that honors the Old Ways. Openly rebelling against the Na’Reish would mean her death, unless she can find an emissary willing to present her petition to the human Blade council.

But Arek isn’t about to blindly follow a demon—despite the intense attraction growing between them. And while hatred for the Na’Reish is all he has ever known, Arek must learn to trust Imhara, or risk the destruction of all three races…

Traitor
I like the model’s eye make-up. It’s really pretty.

This cover’s rather girlie which only adds to the reasons why I like it. The butterfly and sparkly/translucent wings are neat-o.

I like the colours used. The aqua blue contrasts nicely with the black.

Having the ability to shapeshift, Sophia is familiar with change. But even she feels the rising tension in her homeland.

A shadowy male and deadly beast reside in their midst. The births of the newest Kynzesti loom. Hostile Mercesti continue to hunt for the Elder Scroll, and a traumatized female is too afraid to use her abilities to stop them.

Topping off Sophia’s stress is Quincy, the male she’s convinced can’t stand her. She rues the loss of their friendship, but can’t figure out how to move past it. She’ll soon learn, however, that mending that rift bears more significance than she ever imagined.

The search for the Elder Scroll takes on unexpected urgency, and Sophia finds herself in a race across the mainland. To stop the Mercesti led by Eirik, she and her companions must get past their differences and unite against them. If they don’t, Eirik will acquire the immense power he seeks, and two of the beings Sophia loves most will die.

  Undead
I like the badass cheerleader thing that this cover has going on. It’s gruesome yet funny at the same time.

Love the girl’s boots. Where can I buy a pair? LOL

The blood spatter in the snow is a nice touch.

Out of sight, out of their minds: It’s a school-trip splatter fest and completely not cool when the other kids in her class go all braindead on new girl Bobby.

The day of the ski trip, when the bus comes to a stop at a roadside restaurant, everyone gets off and heads in for lunch. Everyone, that is, except Bobby, the new girl, who stays behind with rebel-without-a-clue Smitty.

Then hours pass. Snow piles up. Sun goes down. Bobby and Smitty start to flirt. Start to stress. Till finally they see the other kids stumbling back.

But they’ve changed. And not in a good way. Straight up, they’re zombies. So the wheels on the bus better go round and round freakin’ fast, because that’s the only thing keeping Bobby and Smitty from becoming their classmates’ next meal. It’s kill or be killed in these hunger games, heads are gonna roll, and homework is most definitely gonna be late.

  1. Liz

Love the cover of Undead. I used that as my WoW last week. I know I want a pair of those boots too. Great picks.

  2. I like the pretty purple on the first one too! And the girl’s tat’s are cool. But I’m not a big fan of drawn people. The second book is super pretty! Love the teal against the black and the butterfly wings at the corners of her eyes looks really sweet. The third one rocks. LOL Nothing better than a kick butt cheerleader (Ala Buffy the Vampire Slayer.) These are great. Thanks for sharing!!
