Cover Love

The Rules: Choose a cover (or two, or three), preferably new-ish, and share what you like about it. Grab my graphic or don’t (just so long as you link back). I’ll be posting Cover Love every Monday but feel free to post yours on whatever day works best for you.

My Picks:

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
The eye makeup is beyond fab. It’s so detailed, colorful and fierce.

I like how red is the only color used. Even the model’s eyes are in black & white. Too cool!

The swirling letters and the combination of fonts used in the title are great.

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she’ll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was declared a “must read” by Entertainment Weekly, was named a Best Book of the Year by Amazon.com, and The New York Times called it “a breath-catching romantic fantasy.”

Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The cover’s simple yet elegant.

I think the artist did a bang-up job with the watery flower. I’m not sure if I want to touch it or drink it! Maybe both?

Aiden’s novella

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Devil Said Bang by Richard Kadrey
The model’s arms and the bike’s handle bars sort of look like wings. It’s a neat effect.

I like how the guy’s riding away from the sunset. Usually it’s the other way around!

Or is it the light from the bike? It’s hard to tell. Either way, I approve!

Devil Said Bang
Sandman Slim #4

While ruling the denizens of darkness does have a few perks, James Stark isn’t exactly thrilled at the course his career (not to mention his soul) has taken. Breaking out of Hell once was a miraculous trick. But twice? If anyone can do it, it’s Sandman Slim. While he’s working out the details of his latest escape plan, Slim has to figure out how to run his new domain and hold off a host of trigger-happy killers mesmerized by that bullseye on his back. Everyone in Heaven, Hell, and in between wants to be the fastest gun in the universe, and the best way to prove it is to take down the new Lucifer, aka Sandman Slim aka James Stark.

Then again, LA isn’t quite the paradise it once was since he headed south. A serial killer ghost is running wild and his angelic alter-ago is hiding somewhere in the lost days of time with a secret cabal who can rewrite reality. And starting to care about people and life again is a real bitch for a stone-cold killer

  1. I love them all. I love the eye makeup too. Actually, it might be an awesome idea for a Halloween party 😀 Also, I like to think the guy is riding a Harley <3
