  1. I absolutely love Dave Bidini, especially his TROPIC OF HOCKEY and ON A COLD ROAD books. When he approaches a subject, it never ends up being JUST about that subject. Hockey becomes the means to identity in places like Dubai and China, not just Canada; a rock tour becomes the place to consider loneliness, identity, and even world politics. Plus, there are always the funniest and craziest anecdotes from the most unexpected sources along the way.

  6. I’m a long time fan of Kelley Armstrong and have just about everybook she’s written or got a story in but I’ve also just recently discovered Dani Harper and adore her Changeling books as well!

  7. I haven’t read a lot by any one Canadian author to give much of an informed opinion, but I’ll say Ian Rogers as I’ve read a fair bit of his work and enjoyed all of it a great deal.

  8. Margaret Atwood is definitely my favourite ever since I first read Alias Grace in Grade 8. But since then my list of favourite Canadian authors are grown enormously! There’s so much talent here!

  9. I don’t really know a lot of Canadian author, I never really think about the place they live lol. But I think I would say Kelley Armstrong as she is the only one I know and I really like her adult series.

  10. Hi! Thanks for hosting this giveaway! My favorite canadian author…. Ouff, I read one of Dani Harper book this winter and I loved, but I think the probleme is I don’t know if my faves authors are (or not) canadian… I liked M.R Merrick and Avery Olive’s books too! But I’ll go with Dani Harper!

  12. @Laurie I’ve recently restarted my Kelley Armstrong collection because all of the book covers and formats were different. I want them all to be the same!

  13. Hmmm, tough to choose a favourite…One Canadian YA author I’m a fan of is Y.S. Lee. Need to get my hands on the 3rd book in her Agency series soon!

I really like Margaret Atwood work so I think she would be my favourite Canadian author. Thank you! 😀

  18. Kelley Armstrong rocks the house, but there are MANY Canadian writers who bring the paranormal to life in romance and urban fantasy. Eve Langlais, Stacey Kennedy, Maureen McGowan and Linda Poitevin, to name a few.
