The mask is wicked! *shrugs* I just have a thing for masks, ok? 😉

I like the wispy feel of this cover. I’m not sure if it’s wind or magic that’s visible but, either way, very cool!

I’m ashamed to admit that I’m not a fan of steampunk fiction but the book covers are a particular brand of awesome. Case in point.

I’m a sucker for a girl in a pretty dress and this one is no different. Love it!

Jane Eliot wears an iron mask.

It’s the only way to contain the fey curse that scars her cheek. The Great War is five years gone, but its scattered victims remain — the ironskin.

Now Jane returns to the war-torn country to help a fey-cursed child. Helping the unruly Dorie suppress her curse is hard enough — she certainly didn’t expect to fall for the girl’s father, the enigmatic artist Mr. Rochart. But her blossoming crush is stifled by her own scars, and by his parade of women. Ugly women, who enter his closed studio — and come out as beautiful as the fey.

Jane knows he cannot love her, just as she knows that she must wear iron for the rest of her life. But what if neither of these things are true? Step by step Jane must unlock the secrets of her new life — and discover just how far she will go to become whole again.

  1. Wow! Wow Wow! I love the cover (and does that chick look like Natalie Portman or are my eyes confused?)I haven’t read a single steampunk novel, to be honest *is ashamed* I will try it some day. I agree with you though, the covers for this genre are just amazing!
Oh, and I love the smoke on the cover. Such a good touch for it! I might be tempted to read this book.

  2. I do love this cover. I also like girls in dresses in the cover, plus the colors and the smokeyness it looks awesome. I am not a huge fan of steampunk so I probably won’t read it but will look at the cover.
