Weekly meme hosted by The Book WormsThis week I’m
CRAZY about…
I like that there’s an actual red moon on the cover. It matches the title nicely and my fav color is red. So this one’s a win-win for me.
The wolf silhouette in the boy’s shadow is a nice but suttle way of showing what this book’s about.
The tag-line at the top is a nice touch too. Although, I would have preferred a different font.

Being only half-vamp in a high school like Carpathia Night makes you a whole loser. But Danny Gray manages to escape the worst of the specists at his school. Thanks to genetic treatments he had as an infant, most people assume Danny’s other half is human. Which is a good thing.
Ever since the development of synthetic blood – SynHeme – vamps have become society’s elite, while wulves like his father work menial jobs and live in bad neighborhoods. Wulves are less than second class citizens; once a month they become inmates, forced to undergo their Change in dangerous government compounds.
For Danny, living with his vamp mother and going to a school with a nearly all-vamp student body, it’s best to pretend his wulf half doesn’t even exist. But lately Danny’s been having some weird symptoms — fantastic night vision; a keener-than-usual sense of smell; and headaches, right around the full moon.
Even though it’s easy to be in denial, it’s hard to ignore evidence. There’s only a month until the next few moon, and Danny’s time is running out.
Peter Moore speaks to adolescents in a voice that will have them laughing, set in a world that will get them thinking.

Original Cover:

I for one like the paperback cover more than the hardback one. It has a much “wolfier” feel to it. At least now at first glance you can immediately tell that this is a werewolf book. The new edition is expected out August 7th, 2012.
Which cover do you like the most?

I like the new cover better. The old cover makes me think it’s Eminem’s biography.
@Silver Thistle – LOL! I hadn’t thought of that but now that you mention it…
I definitely like new one better as well! I love the silhouette! It sounds like it would be an interesting read also.
Definitely went to my TBR- pile! I actually like both covers, though then I noticed the hairy wrists.. And the Eminem- thing going on! So yeah, the one with the red moon is better 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Monaliz @ Mind Reading?
@Vyki @ On The Shelf – I’ve added it to my wishlist but who knows how long it’ll take until I get to it… Sad but true.
@Monaliz – The furry wrists aren’t really visible unless you’re zooming in to the cover either so readers might miss it. The new one’s a lot more obvious!
The first one is in a very subtle way saying ‘this is about a werewolf!’ (like you pointed out) and I like that 🙂 When I first saw the cover I had no idea what book it was until… I saw the second cover you showed. Yeah, then I recognized it! Great pick for the week and thanks for stopping by mine 😀
Ooh I love the shadow in the first cover! The second cover is ok, but it doesn’t really tell you anything about the book.
Here’s my Cover Crazy
I have to say I like the new cover better. The old one was interesting, but way too generic. My only problem with the new one is that it reminds me too much of 13 to Life.

Oh. I think I like the newer one better. It’s pretty and attractive! Thank you for sharing! Great pick!
