Tonight I attended the official launch of Sins of the Angels by Linda Poitevin at Collected Works in Ottawa. This event was doubly fun as not only did I get to meet an awesome local up-and-coming author but I also met Julie from Yummy Men and Kick Ass Chicks! We’ve been lending books to each other via our men who work together for several months but we’d never actually met until this evening.
The launch went off without a hitch. I arrived a few minutes early to buy a copy of the book and I was the first customer of the night! Julie and I introduced ourselves to Linda and her husband, explored the bookstore, scoped out the spread (check out the pic of the wicked cake below) and got our newly purchased copies of Sins of the Angels signed. It was standing room only when Poitevin read the second chapter of her debut book. She did an EXCELLENT job for being so nervous! Then the night wrapped up with a bit of mingling and snacks.

Carmel, I cannot thank you enough for coming to the launch! It was wonderful to meet you and I was thrilled to have you as my very first “signee.” So glad you could make it, and that you had a good time!
Hugs,
Linda
@lindapoitevin – It was great fun. Thanks for the invite! 🙂
Can’t wait to meet her in Montreal in November! Looks like you had a lot of fun 🙂
Standing room only?! That’s GREAT! First time authors often only have a few in the audience.
That cake is AWESOME!
So glad you had an awesome time and that Linda managed to do the event without getting TOO nervous!
Oh, and thanks for sharing the awesome photos 🙂
My goodness you’re quick! LOL My post about the evening isn’t going up for a while… It was so cool to finally meeting you. You are so right. The evening went perfectly and Linda read beautifully. I can’t wait until the launch for Sins of the Son!
@Tynga – Sure did! I’ll look for a similar post from you in November!
@Candace – It was great that so many people turned out to support her. You could really feel the love in the room.
@Julie – I was up until 1 AM last night so… and it was great to meet you too. We’ll have to do it again sometime!
I’m so happy you and Julie had such an awesome time at this launch party! After all of Julie’s talk about this book and author and the up-coming launch I bought the book last night at my local book store! I’m excited to read it and see what it’s all about. I told Julie that now that the two of you have officially met now you two need to hang out some and maybe even do a double date to get away from the real world every once in a while. 😀 I’m happy you both had so much fun and I’m glad that Linda had a nice turn out of fans! 😀
@paperbackdaydreamer.com – Julie and I are hoping we’ll get to do this again sometime or even a double date like you said but life’s so busy! We’ll try!
