Welcome to my first ever Top 5 Sunday! This meme is hosted by the lovely Larissa of Larissa’s Bookish Life. For more info on the rules be sure to pay her a visit. This week’s theme was an easy one for me. So, in no particular order:
here are my top 5 picks of…
My all-time favorite author who just so happens to write killer werewolf books!
This series stars the sexiest couple in Urban Fantasy!
Laurell K. Hamilton is one of the best known author’s of the genre.
One of the greatest series ever! Once you make it past book one that is.
One of the only UF series to have gone mainstream in the form of True Blood.

About the Blogger
I review Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance books with a focus all things werewolf. Based out of Ottawa, Canada
The only one I have read on the list was Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I liked it but it really wasn’t my thing. Although I will read her other series which I forgot the series name but has The Reckoning etc etc.
I also love True Blood but have not read the books =/ lol
I’ve only read one of the five, but the others all look good.

<3 <3 Kelley Armstrong and Jeaniene Frost ^.^
Huh, so you have to read past book 1 for the fever series to be good? I had a friend who hated the first book and has really similar tastes to me so I had crossed the series off my list. Looks like I should consider it again by skimming the first book heh~~

Excellent choices! I shared 2 of the same. Almost went for Charlaine’s series but then decided on a few other books!
Here’s my Top 5 Sundays
YAY! So cool to see you joining in Carmel!!! =D
Great choices!!
I totally agree with Bitten!!! I thought of adding it as well! =D
xoxo
Hi Carmel, Thanks for the recommendations. I have been hesitant to read the charlaine Harris books because I tried to watch the HBO show – It was so raunchy. (I couldn’t finish the episode) Are the books like the show?
K.J.
I could’t agree more with you with your Kelley Armstrong pick!
And I am with kjovus… What are the True Blook books like? I totally tried watching the show, but I thought that it was too raunchy/ soft-core porn for my taste (plus, it is always awkward watching that sort of dealio with your parents in the same room… HA! 😉 )
PS. I tweeted about this post!
PSS. Have a great rest of the weekend!

I’ve only read Guilty Pleasures but I really need to read Kelley Armstrong’s books. 🙂 I have a friend who’s really nudging me to get into them, so I have Bitten on my TBR list this year. Great list, Carmel! Hope you’re having a great weekend!

I agree with you, Bitten was my introduction to the UF genre, and has remained ever since one of my favourite top UF novels and Kelley Armstring is my favourite author! I also love her Nadia Stafford novels, KA’s writing style and the quality of her novels is amazing!
You should also try (if you haven’t read her yet, the World of Lupi series by Eileen Wilks, it is equally amazing!)
+1 I also tweeted here: http://twitter.com/Stella_ExLibris/status/49519363249811456

Great top five! I can’t pick only five books.
@Michael Antonio Araujo Aaw, that’s too bad. Hopefully you like her YA series more!
@LRAtRandom At least you’ve read one. 😛
@Sniffly Kitty Yeah, book 1 can be a little dry but the rest of the series more than makes up for it!
@Jessica I see you have Stray on yours. I thought about adding that one as well.
@Larissa I’ve been keeping an eye on the topics for a while. This was the first one that was easy for me to come up with 5.
@kjovus – The show and the series are very different. They start off more or less in the same direction but that doesn’t last long.
@Avery LOL I can completely understand how you’d have problems watching True Blood with your parents around!
@DJL Well allow me to nudge you a little more! 😉
@donnas Yeah, Hamilton’s books do take a turn later on in the series. Some say for better some say for worse…
@Vivien I need to read more of it. The books are on my very long TBR list!
@Megan Marie Great minds think alike!
@Stella Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll add that series to my list!
@BLHmistress Ooh, sounds like you have some catching up to do. LOL 😉
@Books Glorious Books I had similar feelings when I read Bitten.
@Winnie Who doesn’t love the Night Huntress series!? It rocks!
@Diana It is tough to only pick 5.
I heard a lot of good about books from Jeaniene Frost… I wish I have these books 🙂
