It’s Friday already? LOL Where has the week gone? I’ve been slacking on my book reviews this week because my eyes still need tons of breaks after my Lasik eye surgery last week. But I am happy to say that I now have 20/20 vision and am on the road to recovery. I also tweaked my blog template. What do you think? In any case, thanks for stopping by and let the Friday hop madness begin!

“What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?”

None as of yet. Before selecting a book to review I tend to research it pretty thoroughly to make sure that it’s for me. Reading and posting reviews are hobbies for me that I enjoy. I don’t want them to become a chore so I generally won’t read a book simply because it’s receiving a lot of hype. I’m bound to fall into that trap sooner or later but am happy to say I haven’t succumbed yet!

“What do you do besides reading / reviewing as a hobby??”

Since I started blogging reading seems to be taking up more and more of my time because I want new content to post. Every now and then I do make time for video games, web design (I know that’s cheating cuz it goes side-by-side with blogging but shhh!), my dogs and very soon I’ll be out snowboarding. Can’t wait! F*$$ off global warming, I want snow!

  1. It’s been the same for me so far. I haven’t yet read a hyped book that I didn’t like although I’ve been avoiding 1 particular series because of the hype. LOL.

  2. Yay, someone else that wants snow! I love snow, everyone around me wishes the weather report will be wrong and it won’t snow, but I’m always rooting for it:) Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. neat blog theme. I love the howling wolf. I never tried snowboarding but I know I’d love it. Everyone I know who has said it’s addicting. New follower.

  4. Hey Carmel!

I do the SAME EXACT THING! I have precious little free time, so before I take on a book to read and review, I make sure that it will be worth my time – I’ve only been wrong once, so it’s a good method.

    Enjoy your snowboarding!

  7. I had one that I received through a giveaway that I really thought I’d like based on what I’d seen about it. Unfortunately, it just was not what I expected and that threw me off so much that I didn’t enjoy it.

There are books I’ve been avoiding because they are so talked about too.

Glad you haven’t run into one you disliked yet!

  8. LOOL, i love how you insult global warming.
I live in Toronto and we’re kinda hoping for snow but at the same time we’re praying we don’t get mountains of snow. Btw, I’ve tried to snowboard, but I don’t think I’ll ever try it again. I spent most of the day falling down in the snow, resisting tears and then the next day, I couldn’t even move.
You brave, brave soul. I wish you luck on your snowboarding adventures.

  9. Oooh snowboarding! I’m hoping to take lessons this season *crosses fingers* :):):) Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

  10. I live at the bottom of a ski hill so… πŸ™‚ But yeah, there’s definitely a step learning curve. I was black and blue all over that season but that was 12 years ago!

  11. You live at the bottom of a ski hill?? What is this Canadian land you speak of?? Remember I’m from New Jersey, we fist pump and beat girls up on the weekends (just kidding!!!)Anywho, be careful, and don’t hurt yourself snow boarding, you crazy Canadian you!!(bites fingernails!!)

  12. Hi There!
I’m a new follower! Just stopping by to say hi! We have snow on our mountains…..lots of snowboarding and skiing πŸ™‚ Not like last year when we were trucking snow in for the Olympics πŸ™ That was embarrassing!!

  13. Kristin — Fist pumping. LOL You’re so proud of that one! πŸ˜‰ We have to find something to do out here in the middle of nature!

Thanks for returning the hops everyone! Remember to let me know if you’re new and I’ll follow you back!

  14. Happy HOP! I had a REALLY hard time with The Hollow and the Bree Tanner novella. Posting my review on Stephenie Meyer gave me the image of an angry mob with pitchforks coming to lynch me. LOL gotta love the imagination!
