This weeek’s questions:
If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
Most of the time I do, it’s just easier that way, less confusing. But from time to time I won’t either because I don’t realize it’s not the first book in a series or I just really want to read it and the other books weren’t in stock.
What is your usual monthly budget?
Under $100.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
About the Blogger
I review Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance books with a focus all things werewolf. Based out of Ottawa, Canada
Hi, Carmel! Old follower here. π I read the first book of a series too so I will not get confused. I never tried reading a series not starting from the first book. π
Have a nice weekend!

Happy Friday!
I now make it a point to start with book 1 in any series that I might start. Too many of them nowadays make it hard to enjoy the story if you haven’t been reading the books in order. Some you can get away with reading book 3 first or something like Kelley Armstrong’s series. (Love that one!)

Hi there! Stopping in from the hop π
I’m one of those people who has to read a series in order. I’m always afraid that I’ll miss something huge if I skip one! My book budget = $0… I have to trade for my books or cross my fingers that I’ll win one π
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by. I probably spent close to a $100 each month shipping books out.
Im now following!!!
Wow! Nice book budget. And your blog button is super cool.

Hi Carmel!! Enjoyed reading your answers.
My answers are HERE
Hopping through. Old follower. I think I’d only read a series out of order if each was a standalone companion novel
Hiya Carmel,
Ooo…what a book budget! *insert longing sigh* LoL
I have to read a series in order, I can’t just jump into the middle.
Have a lovely book filled weekend!

Hi there! Stopping by on the hop π
I spend less than $100 on books usually. The only times I ever go over are on Christmas, my birthday, or when I’m feeling particularly empowered to reward myself with books (boy do I love those times) π
Have a great weekend!

I’m an old follower just stopping by. π I sometimes spend up to $100 on books, but rarely. Most of the time I just take advantage of the library. And I almost always read the first book in a series first. Have an awesome weekend!

Happy Friday! I try to keep my budget at $20 or less. I usually have to forfeit coffee, which is generally a bad thing for the world, but I MUST have my books. I live for arcs, e-galleys and the audio books at the ebranch of my local library.
Thanks for following my new zombie blog. Having a great time with it.

I WISH I had anywhere close to $100 on books a month! Lol. But since I’m not working a whole lot while I’m in college, my paychecks aren’t as great as they used to be.
Hope you have a great weekend!

New follower here. Iβm doing all three of the Friday blog runs. I donβt limit myself to budget with books. I just love to read and write so that line is always doable for me. And Yes, I love start a series at the 1st book.

I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series’ story
doesn’t run chronologically.
That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child’s Reacher novels) then I don’t feel the need to start with book one.
On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch’s Battlestar
Galactica novels) can’t be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

I am the same way, I will make all attempts to read the first book in a series first, but sometimes I slip up and find out later that there is previous books in the series I just read- or if I have to wait too long for the first book when I have the second or third book in my possession? Yeah, the later books are def. going to be read first- darn having no patience π
