This blogger hop was created by Jennifer at Crazy for Books. Follow my blog Friday was created by ParaJunkee’s View. My first ever blog hop! I just came across this great idea today while checking out fellow bloggers.
The blog hop lasts from October 15th-18th. Here are the rules (similar to ParaJunkee’s so I’ll only post one of the two):
- Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below (be sure to include how long you’ve been blogging and what genres you review!). If you post about the Hop on your blog, please link directly to your Hop post (don’t forget to answer this week’s question – see below!).
- Visit other blogs in the Linky List! Make new friends! Follow new book bloggers! Talk about books! Rave about authors! (Please do not leave your link and not visit other blogs – it’s just not cool and not in the spirit of the Hop!)
- Post about the Hop on your blog! Spread the word about the book party! The more the merrier!
- In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!):
When you read a book that you just can’t get into, do you stick it
out and keep reading or move to your next title?
If it’s a book in a series that I enjoy and there happens to be one bad apple out of the bunch I will usually truck on through. However, if it’s the first book by an author that I haven’t read before I will put it aside. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood for a particular genre but I’ll usually come back to it… eventually. Rarely will I give up all together unless it’s really really bad!
What is your reading suggestion this week?
I’m going to have to go with Prey by Rachel Vincent. Just finished it last week and I absolutely LOVED it! Best book of the series in my opinion but I’m still reading Alpha so that may change!

I notice that you love werewolves in particular. Have you read Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson books? Mercy, of course, is not a werewolf herself, but is, um, very close to them. For what it’s worth, here’s my review of her novel Blood Bound.

thanks for hopping by my blog-I like what you said about new vs. old authors. I usually feel a loyalty to authors I’ve loved before, even though I’m not loving their latest work. I just had that problem recently with Her Fearful Symmetry.

I usually stick books out, even if it annoys me like crazy. I like giving fair chances to books, and I feel incomplete if I don’t finish it. I’ve even stuck it through an entire series I absolutely hated. Maybe it’s just me being weird.

You know, that’s where I am right now with Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series… I am TOTALLY stuck on the second book, but I LOVED the first book… but in the second one… they are *literally* on a slow boat to China, and I’m just as bored as Temeraire. ACK! I just keep putting it down, reading a little bit, and picking it back up.
