Bookfessional: My I-Can’t-Wait-For-Them-Books

10. The Armored Saint by Myke Cole

I’ve been watching Myke Cole post pictures of staged battles for what feels like forever. I. Am. So. Ready. For this book.

9. The Emerald Sea by Richelle Mead

Despite having nothing to do with fae and being a half-fantasy, I loved THE GLITTERING COURT. Then last year, I loved MIDNIGHT JEWEL even more, making this last installment of the trilogy a no-brained for this list.

8. Alliances by Timothy Zahn

I find myself even more obsessed with this blue alien than I am with the STAR WARS canon as a whole . . .

7. A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

ACOTAR has officially replaced ToG as my favorite SJM series, so of course the forthcoming installment is among my most anticipateds.

6. Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs

Always happy for more Charles and Anna (and Asil and Bran).

5. Iron Gold by Pierce Brown

As uncertain as some of Mustang’s choices left me at the end of MORNING STAR, I need to know what comes next in this universe of genetically modified humans.

4. This Fallen Prey by Kelley Armstrong

Eric. Dalton. #thatisall

3. Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews

Hugh’s book. What’s not to want?

2. Magic Triumps by Ilona Andrews

The reason this book is #2 on my list is b/c as much as I want it, I’m also dreading it . . . But I really, really want it. Like NOW.

1. Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik

UPROOTED might be my favorite book of all time. I cannot get SPINNING SILVER fast enough. I will dream about this book until it’s in my grubby reviewer hands, then everything else in this world will go on the back burner, and my husband will have to order pizza for dinner.

What about you? What books are you most looking forward to next year?

Jessica Signature

My name is Jessica and I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’m trying my hand at writing, but mostly I read. My favorite genres are Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Science Fiction, Urban Fantasy, and the YA versions of those genres, but if there is a book of a different color getting lots of buzz, I’ll read it too, just to be informed. If I’m not reading or writing, I’m probably on Goodreads or Pinterest or baking blueberry pies because I love them.

  1. Great list! Some of mine top picks are there also. So will Hugh’s book actually be in April? Magic Triumphs is already available for pre-order but they won’t let me tell them to take my money for Iron and Magic yet. Thanks for pointing out the Naomi Novik book; I will have to track it down for sure. Anne

    • I know as much as you do (what they most recently posted on the blog). With all of their moving shenanigans, I haven’t requested more specific information. I figure I’ll give it a few weeks. 😉

And you are welcome. I read the online excerpt, and it was fantastic. CANNOT wait.

  2. Oh what a list you have here!! I love Timothy Zahn, he is an amazing author. I haven’t read him since I was a teenager, but his writing is FANTASTIC. So I hope you enjoy that one.

I can’t wait for Magic Triumphs…because its CURRAN AND KATE!!! Aren’t they so fun to read?

Hope you enjoy all of these.

    • I’m with you on Zahn. I loved THRAWN so much that I got the original trilogy (probably the one you read as a teenager).

And Kate and Curran are the BEST. Seriously. I want to be Kate when I grow up.

    • YOU HAVE TO READ KATE 2!! It’s even better than KATE 1, and if you were confused b/c world-building, it gets cleared up, I PROMISE. *chants* peer pressure, peer pressure, peer pressure .
