Or a death cult in Nepal. Or a battery-chewing wizard’s relationship problems. Staked (The Iron Druid Chronicles #8)
by Kevin Hearne
Urban Fantasy

Now the toothy troublemakers—led by power-mad pain-in-the-neck Theophilus—have become a huge problem requiring a solution. It’s time to make a stand.

As always, Atticus wouldn’t mind a little backup. But his allies have problems of their own. Ornery archdruid Owen Kennedy is having a wee bit of troll trouble: Turns out when you stiff a troll, it’s not water under the bridge. Meanwhile, Granuaile is desperate to free herself of the Norse god Loki’s mark and elude his powers of divination—a quest that will bring her face-to-face with several Slavic nightmares.

As Atticus globetrots to stop his nemesis Theophilus, the journey leads to Rome. What better place to end an immortal than the Eternal City? But poetic justice won’t come without a price: In order to defeat Theophilus, Atticus may have to lose an old friend.[/learn_more]

I’m Makenna Fraser, seer for the SPI. And the collateral damage caused by Brimstone is something I’d like to unsee: dead drug dealers missing their hearts—and souls. Because your local pusher doesn’t stand a chance against the new cartel muscling its way into New York. And since the drug can only be produced with magic and molten brimstone fresh from Hell, that means a rift to the underworld is open somewhere in the city.

  1. Jennifer from The Book Nympho

I’m playing catch up with Hearne’s series. I have a couple of Michele Bardsley books on my ereader to read. I didn’t realize she was still writing the series.

I wasn’t sure if Zanetti’s new book was paranormal or not. I have it on my list to try at some point along with Saintcrow.
