Heather Luth knows nothing about the paranormal world until one awful night changes everything. Now she’s on the run — straight into the arms of forbidden love. Her mind knows better than to fall for a werewolf's sunny smile and mesmerizing voice, but her heart — and destiny — have other ideas.

On the surface, Cody Hawthorne is warm, witty, and fun, but beneath his carefree facade, Heather sees a real man struggling to break free. Day by day, Heather and Cody grow closer and closer, unable to resist their simmering passion — while day by day, a serial murderer closes in on his prey. Duty fights desire; fear wrestles trust as the human world clashes with the paranormal in a tale of forbidden love.

There’s more than meets the eye on Twin Moon Ranch, home to a pack of shapeshifting wolves willing to battle for life and love.

* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, vampires, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance! *

PNR Howling Good Sexy Suspense

Hot cowboy werewolves anyone? I found this book after reading a review on a blog. I am completely blank on which one, but the blogger did assure me that I could read these out of order. She was right, I had no problems and I ended up being glad I took the chance.

Heather is a young school teacher that gets dragged out by her friend to a club to meet her friend’s new man and his friend. Heather takes one look and knows evil when she sees it. She’s able to escape, but her friend isn’t as lucky. Heather takes off and drives. And then drives some more, ending up in a small town in Arizona. She meets Cody, a gorgeous man that lives on the ranch where she finds a temporary job as a teacher for the children that live there. Cody is everything she has always wanted in a man. On Cody’s part, he looks at Heather and thinks, MATE. That’s because Heather has exchanged one supernatural being for another after her escape. Cody is a werewolf and is son of the alpha. And it’s against every pack rule for him to date a human, much less mate with one.

Cody was a good character. He’s been looked over by his father in favor of his older brother, and never given any responsibility. When he was younger, he was a bit of a womanizer, but now he wants to prove himself to his father. When women are being found drained of blood and mutilated, he starts working to find the killer. Heather was smart enough to know she had to run when she did. She is also smart enough to know a good man when she meets one. Of course she doesn’t know what Cody really is.

This ended up being a good romance with plenty of smexy times. It’s a short read and really probably is more in the novella category, although it’s not billed that way. I enjoyed the characters-the best part-and the action that is involved. There’s lots of peripheral characters that you know have already either had a book or short story written about, previous to this read. I am really interested in one of the characters named Kyle, who is involved with the murder investigation, so I will probably be reading his book titled, Desert Fate. Keep in mind it’s an adult read. Recommended for paranormal romance readers.

FYI-As of this writing, Desert Moon, book one in this series is free on Amazon.

I’m Lorna and I live in Maryland. Since retiring, I spend my time mostly reading and reviewing books. My favorite reads are Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, and Young Adult. I read a lot of indie books in addition to traditionally published books. Favorite paranormal creature? Vampires, but I am really liking werewolves more everyday.

  2. *haha* I’m with you and a few others…hot cowboy werewolf? Sign me up! I’m glad you took a chance on this as well, Lorna, and that you liked it so well. I like the sound of both Cody and Heather…can’t pass up a man/wolf trying to prove himself and I like a heroine who’s smart. I’ve already brought the links up for the series. 😉

    • I have read two of them so far and liked them. I am not sure about book one because the main male character is in these books I have read and I am not sure that I like him. I am sure I probably would if I tried it though 🙂
