Souls of the Damned
Souls of the Damned (Kat Redding #5)
by E.S. Moore
Urban Fantasy
[learn_more caption=”Book Description”]Innocence is relative, and evil is damned hard to kill. . .

Kat Redding would love to take a break from the gruesome, dangerous work of hunting down rogue vampires and werewolves, battling for innocent lives. But there’s no peace for Lady Death. Until Kat’s young charge, Sienna, appears on her doorstep, escaped from the shadow-paradise of Delai. Sienna is weak, confused, desperate–human in the utmost. If Kat is going to have any hope of breaking the hold of Delai, she’ll have to infiltrate the walls around the false sanctuary. And the only way she can do that is to trade in her battle-hardened, bloodthirsty vampire’s body–for Sienna’s human form.

With no weapons but her wits, Kat has to trust a demon, defeat an angel, and wrestle with her own rebel soul–because with all the fear and death she’s conquered, no one has ever offered her another day under a warm yellow sun. . .[/learn_more]

Shattered (The Iron Druid Chronicles #7)
by Kevin Hearne
Urban Fantasy
[learn_more caption=”Book Description”]Acclaimed author Kevin Hearne makes his hardcover debut with the new novel in his epic urban fantasy series starring the unforgettable Atticus O’Sullivan.

For nearly two thousand years, only one Druid has walked the Earth—Atticus O’Sullivan, the Iron Druid, whose sharp wit and sharp sword have kept him alive as he’s been pursued by a pantheon of hostile deities. Now he’s got company.

Atticus’s apprentice Granuaile is at last a full Druid herself. What’s more, Atticus has defrosted an archdruid long ago frozen in time, a father figure (of sorts) who now goes by the modern equivalent of his old Irish name: Owen Kennedy.

And Owen has some catching up to do.

Atticus takes pleasure in the role reversal, as the student is now the teacher. Between busting Atticus’s chops and trying to fathom a cell phone, Owen must also learn English. For Atticus, the jury’s still out on whether the wily old coot will be an asset in the epic battle with Norse god Loki—or merely a pain in the arse.

But Atticus isn’t the only one with daddy issues. Granuaile faces a great challenge: to exorcise a sorcerer’s spirit that is possessing her father in India. Even with the help of the witch Laksha, Granuaile may be facing a crushing defeat.

As the trio of Druids deals with pestilence-spreading demons, bacon-loving yeti, fierce flying foxes, and frenzied Fae, they’re hoping that this time, three’s a charm.[/learn_more]

The Wizard King (Heart’s Desire #3)
by Dana Marie Bell
Paranormal Romance

Gareth Beckett takes the wizard throne in three days, and the woman who stole his heart is missing. Hoping with everything in him that it will call her back to his side, he casts the Beckett mate spell.

One minute, Genevieve Godwin is knocking on Gareth’s door to tell him she’s had a vision warning of a threat to his life. The next, she’s pinned to his sofa, trying to explain her recent absence to one very irate werewolf wizard.

Ever since Gen was forced to use her warlock powers to save him, he’s barely made eye contact. And now he wants her to be his queen? She’s a Hecate’s Own, not a princess. Her place is on the trail of evil—especially her own brothers—to bring them to justice, not sipping tea and making small talk.

Gareth is determined to keep her at his side, and not only to keep her safe. Between scheming courtiers, the threat of the Godwin brothers and Gen’s insistence that she be allowed to continue her work as one of Hecate’s Own, Gareth is about to lose his mind. It will take a powerful combination of witch, wizard and warlock to stop the magical coup d’état that could destroy them all.

  1. I thought about snagging Chasers of the Wind but decided against it. I most definitely will be reading Ruin and Rising – I guess I better go out and get a copy but honestly I’m not in a rush. I am in the midst of trying to avoid the spoilers but have already heard of one but not the details behind it. the author was literally attached on twitter this past weekend I couldn’t believe it.

As for Dark Metropolis – my friend has the copy and hopefully I’ll start that one tonight or tomorrow if she drops it back off lol.

I REALLY need to get started on Kevin Hearne’s series. do you ever get intimidated by a series once you are already so far behind everyone else?
Tabitha (Not Yet Read) recently posted…Review: Feather Bound by Sarah Raughley

    • When a series is already 12+ installments it, it’s rare that I’ll even attempt it unless it consistently gets rave reviews. The Iron Druid Chronicles are amazing though, and short reads. You can totally do it!

    • Yeah, Souls of the Damned isn’t from a new series, BUT there actually are SEVERAL new UF series that I’m excited about–Free Agent by J.C. Nelson and Deadly Curiosities by Gail Z. Martin both look really good (IMO) 😉
